SSC Stenographer Recruitment Selection Process
Every Selection depends upon some factors. On which commission checks the eligibilities of candidates and prepares the result. This recruitment is also based on these phases of examination:
- Paper I
- Paper II
- Personal Interview
- Documentation
PAPER I
- Paper I is an objective type paper i.e Multiple Choice Questions.
- It will be held in offline mode.
- The time duration for completing Paper 1 is 2 hours ( 120 minutes).
- Total no. of asked questions in Paper 1 is 200.
- Total marks are 200 that means each question carries one mark.
- Each wrong answer will deduct 0.25 mark and no marks will be deducted if the question is unanswered or unmarked.
Paper I have three sections:
- General Reasoning and intelligence will contain 50 questions of 50 marks,
- General Awareness will contain 50 questions of 50 marks and
- English language and comprehension will contain 100 questions of 100 marks.
Only those candidates can appear in the first phase who have applied successfully for the recruitment on time. No candidate will be allowed to sit in the exam who don’t have to admit card with them.
PAPER II
- Paper II is basically a skill test or typing test.
- It will be done in online mode.
- For steno grade C: Candidates have to type 50 minutes in English and 65 minutes in Hindi ( 100 WPM ).
- For Steno Grade D: Candidate have to type 40 minutes in English and 55 minutes in Hindi ( 80 WPM ).
Only those candidates will be able to attempt Paper II who passed the first exam with the above or equal to the cut-off marks decided by the commission. The admit card for Paper II will be released separately.
Personal Interview
The third phase for the selection is Personal Interview. Only those candidates will be called for the interview round who qualify these two rounds with cut off marks.
Documentation
After all phases candidates will be called for the document verification. Candidates have to come with their original documents.

SSC stenographer result will be released very shortly by the officials. Those candidates will be selected for the vacant seats who will qualify all exam rounds with cut off marks. The expected cut off marks are:
- General: 142 – 148
- OH: 107 – 113
- OBC: 120- 128
- SC: 110 – 112
- ST: 100 – 107
