Join Indian Air Force is the number one choice of the youngster. Mainly there are two ways of selection in the Indian Air Force. The 1st one is selected as an Officer and the 2nd one is selected as Airman. Now in this post, we will tell you about both of these.

Join Indian Air Force as an Agniveer Vayu

Indian Air Force Joining for Airmen is now done under Agneepath Scheme. Now the candidates are selected for the post of Agniveer Vayu. The service of Agniveer Vayu is vaild for 4 years only.

The Indian Air Force has recruited the candidates for Airmen as Group X and Group Y. The candidates have to apply for Indian Air Force Agniveer recruitment to join as Airmen. The qualifications of the candidates for the same are mentioned here.

Educational Qualification for Group X

The candidates should have done their 12th with Physics and Mathematics with a minimum of 50% marks.

Educational Qualification for Group Y

The aspirants should have done their 12th with a minimum of 50% marks.

Indian Air Force Selection Process for Group X and Y

The candidates who have completed their 12th class can apply for these posts. The selection of candidates for these posts will be based on various phases such as a written exam, physical test, group discussion and medical test.

First, the aspirants will be called for the 1st phase of selection which is the written exam. Then the candidates will select for Physical Test and Group Discussion. The candidates who will be qualified for both tests are invited for the medical test and after that, a final list of selections will be published for the selected candidates.

After 12th

The Candidates can join Indian Air Force as an officer if they have completed their 12th with Physics and Mathematics. The age of candidates must be minimum of 16 years and 6 months and a maximum of 19 years and 6 months.

The candidates can Join the Indian Air Force after the 12th through NDA (National Defence Academy). The applications for NDA will be available twice a year.

After Engineering

If you want to join Indian Air Force after completing Engineering then you have three options to Join Air Force.

  1. Flying Branch
  2. Ground Duty Branch
  3. Technical Branch

After Graduation

All three options i.e. Flying Branch, Ground Duty Branch and Technical Branch is available for you.

After Post-Graduate

If you want to Join Indian Air Force after Post-Graduate then you can join only Ground Duty Branch.

Indian Air Force Flying Branch, Ground Duty Branch and Technical Branch Details

Flying Branch

In this branch, you are trained as Fighter Pilot/ Helicopter Pilot or Transport Pilot.

Ground Duty Branch

Both Male and Female Candidates can apply for this and the age limit of candidates should be between 20 to 26 years.

Technical Branch

In Techincal Branch, all male and female candidates can apply.
